Off-Season Update
Hi Everyone, I hope you had a fantastic Christmas and New Years. While we aren’t slammed with fishing during the off-season, we have been mixing our time with some hunting in the woods and modifying the boat. The last time you fished with us, the Next Gen Fishing machine would have been sporting Twin Yamaha 150’s. While they were highly reliable motors, they were beginning to show their age and were stacking up some hours after several summers of rigorous use.
We have now repowered with brand new mercury 150s, which I expect to perform just as well. Aside from that significant upgrade, we will be making a few minor cosmetic upgrades and a new lithium battery to replace five standard 12V batteries.
We are very excited about all the fun fishing trips ahead of us in 2022. We expect lots of smiling faces, sore arms, and boxes full of fish!

Looking Forward
Triggerfish season is just around the corner, followed by Amberjack, and then mid-year, we have Red Snapper season to look forward to. I will hold off on giving any firm dates because seasons are subject to change but follow my blog or social media, and I will keep you up to date. Remember, most species we can catch year-round; they may not be in season, so we would have to release them.
If shark fishing is what gets your adrenaline pumping, we expect that to be exceptional this year. It has been a few years since they started protecting certain sharks, and it is showing. Year after year, we have caught more sharks than the last, and last year I will take a wild guess that we caught over 100 sharks on our trips, some reaching weights nearly 300 pounds!
The phone has been ringing, and I have been booking quite a few trips already throughout the year which is very exciting! If you plan to come down and fish with us, give us a call as far in advance as possible. I hope to see you soon!
Tight Lines,
Captain Austin
